We are living in times of accelerated change, characterised by shorter industry and product life cycles, faster obsolescence and rapid innovation. Leadership in such times is assumed by those who are able to quickly adapt and respond to change. This is as true of companies as it is of nations, individuals and equally, business functions such as IT. In this Roundtable, we look at some aspects of how CIOs can resound to the changing business environment. Some of these imperatives relate to changes at the personal level, while others to the way the IT organisation is run, and yet others to how IT should work with businesses and contribute to the formulation of corporate strategy and not just its implementation.
