Briefing sessions lie at the heart of IMA India's peer
group forums. Hosted as short 90-minute breakfast
discussions or even half-day workshops, every 6-8 weeks,
The India CIO Forum briefings are closed-door, highly
interactive meetings. Briefing sessions are held in
Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore and bring together member
CIOs to debate not only critical challenges facing the
IT function per se, but more importantly, issues
stemming from broader organisational challenges,
including cross-functional ones. The briefings are
structured as interactive sessions with authoritative
individuals as speakers and panellists (pioneering
practitioners, domain specialists, academicians, and
external commentators). While technology vendors are
invited to share their first hand perspective on
technical issues, they are expressly disallowed from
solicitation.
CIO Forum sessions focus on matters relating to
understanding the returns from technology investments,
conceptualising strategies to drive business through
technology, working through execution and change
management approach as well as broader issues relating
to governance, risk management, leadership etc. Topics
are selected on the basis of IMA India's ongoing
research as well as through client feedback.
Currently, CIO Forum briefings are held in Delhi/NCR,
Mumbai and Bangalore. All sessions are followed up by
Conclusions Papers, which are intelligent and crisp
summaries of the discussions that took place, to enable
members to retain key messages as also share learnings
within their management teams.
