One of the greatest management changes of the last
decade has been the dramatic penetration of technology
in every business operation and consequently, decision.
As a result, the role of the Chief Information Officer
has transformed rapidly. CEOs rely increasingly on their
CIO not only to help them make investment decisions but
equally in developing business strategy in the first
place: the ‘what’ before the ‘how’.
In response, CIOs need to reinvent their own
capabilities. While technical knowledge and expertise
remains without doubt one of their greatest assets, the
difference between ‘technology competence’ and ‘business
leadership’ will be the CIO’s ability to see the big
picture…not just to understand technology but to go
beyond it.
The India CIO Forum has been created to fulfil this
need. Unlike the multitude of (often vendor-driven)
services that exist across the board, IMA’s India CIO
Forum provides an unbiased and authoritative platform
that specifically aims to take the CIO beyond
technology. Briefing sessions hosted in New Delhi,
Mumbai and Bangalore, are built around strategic
business imperatives relating to, originating from,
technology. Sessions receive authoritative individuals
and practitioners as speakers. All sessions are
closed-door and interactive so discussions are intense,
frank and practical.
To maintain the ongoing seniority and relevance of the
peer group, membership to the India CIO Forum is by
invitation only and restricted to the senior-most
individual in the IT function of an organisation. To
